AGNES IS STILL AT HOME

Agnes isn’t answering her phone
sometimes she turns off the ringer before elections
and forgets to turn it back on
she said she doesn’t miss her friends’ calls
but that has to be a lie
I know that Agnes is home
she said that she was not going to her daughter’s
not ever again a holiday at her daughter’s
of course they want her
I know Agnes is home
the light is on in her kitchen
there is still snow on her doorstep
