Shaman Deer: Change Skin

Shaman Deer: Change Skin

Branches intertwined become
antlers, catching suntips
the eye of dawn watching
--gametrails constantly shift
as the wind does, so does sensitive
nose, the forest's thesaurus of smell.

Taste, tasted the wind.
Inside this book is also a wind.
It blows from the East.From
Ireland, the Dacians tribes &
America.All who hold Mother Earth
as holy and our mother. Those
painted the caves of Europe
in Her honor.

Deer puts his foot delicately
on mountain meadow aware of the web
concurrent and consequent to act:
the dream, nearly always animal

Your brother whose touch you may reject
but whose power never leaves, breaks
or passes totally away. Spirits people
these hills, are these rocks, skies

all around us the sky's blue lodge catches
the heart's drumbeat, amplifies it
for the listening world outside.
With my foot, I touch this spot.
