THE ANNUNCIATION
(From a Dream)
Bob Hope told me
that Jesus Christ is born.
I believed him.
He was close enough to
the other side to know,
probably saw him come in.
About 99 years old,
wrinkled, he looked
like a prune with ears.
I hadn't thought about
either of them in years
but decided I'd ponder both.
After all, you don't get
messages from a prune
with ears often.
You don't get Hope often either--
even if it's Bob.
