Painting from Diana Maus Arts
Honored Father:
You paid your dues.
The Depression, W.W. II
both took their toll from you
and four children to be clothed
and fed
meant dreams deferred,
meant stumbling through
each day knowing how the next
would be just like all the rest.
Sadly, now I recognize:
we lived together but never met
