THE FIREMAN AND THE DARKNESSES


The Fireman knows the darknesses.
He has known their cloaking,
their ecliptic ministries.

For him, they are what makes living possible.
But they are also what makes living impossible.
Alas--another paradox.

The Fireman knows the meaning of paradox.
That's the problem with being conscious:
so much knowing.
