THE SNOWMAN REMEMBERS THE FIREHOUSE
His father volunteered
for Steamer Company No. 1
The beer was cold,
the heads were white
and foamy,
the mugs were
icy.
This is where his father came
every week
instead of going to church.
The Snowman went with him
to learn what ice meant,
and the meanings of
absolute zero.
