Death Tiptoes In

death tiptoes in

death tiptoes in
the way dying
simply does
not. death
does his
thing so
well that
we are left
behind,
unhinged, like
heavy benches
of land
breaking away,
and death
is national
geographic
filming the next
episode of
nature’s catastrophe,
indifferent
impassive
and so serene
.
