Bessie’s Bones
Hurricane Sandy
was a behemoth bitch
that mated
with an Arctic brute
and broke the back
of a dozen states,
yet--
it also exposed
the Bessie White,
a 90 year old
four-masted schooner
on a beach
on Fire Island,
between Skunk Hollow
and Whalehouse Point.
Look fast,
for the sea
shall rebury it
soon.

that is one very cool thing about storms is what they turn up...and yes, it will eventually rebury as well....i am pretty sure the last storm they found some large civil war ship if i am not mistaken...

Awesome write and out of the chaos that was Sandy...a fantastic discovery...and but a short time to take advantage of the wears before the bones return to the locker...loved this one Glenn! The image is equally fascinating!
