Bromance

Bromance

“Just smile & look pretty, baby.”--Paul Wesley.

I was shaken by the news--Pence cast the tie-breaking
VP vote, leaving a sour taste in my teeth--more proof
that the Trumpian authoritarian regime will call all the
shots, using every sort of dirty Kamikaze tactics
straight-up, in our faces, despite our anger and other
stirred emotions.

My wife & I are teachers. We feel that Devos is nothing
more than hair of the dog, another arrogant ignorant
billionaire wanting to drive Education on the rocks. Less
than three weeks into Trumpville and my soul is already
hammered, my heart is in dangerous cardiac--twist.

To all those other-directed patriotic voters who have now
put Benito Baloney into power, I say you have certainly
named your poison. The vessel of Liberty s heroically
fighting against this dark storm, with many more than
three sheets to the wind, valiantly trying not to have a
rendezvous on the rocks.

There can be no real
tonic for poor judgement, just

regrets and last call.

  1. Excellent use of the words here, Glenn. Hoping writing about it brings you some peace.

  2. And what better way to comment than using Orwell.

War is peace. Freedom is slavery. Ignorance is strength.

Good education will never give voters.

  7. Masterful use of the pub terms to apply to the present political debacle taking place before our very eyes. I share your point of view, and applaud your wordmastery!

  8. oh you've really done it here again! And the haiku is MASTERFUL!
You'll appreciate this....I wrote letters before we left Boston....to McCain, Graham, and a number of other more "moderate" Republicans about DeVos. Then, here in Bermuda, I read that it could be a tie and so sent emails to Republicans I thought could be swayed. Well -- the bromance kicked in and Pence broke the tie and....I am not getting emails that are obviously written to Republicans and Trump supporters. Quite frightening how, in all reality, the content of my emails was not read by anyone in these Republican senators' offices buy my email was added to their list for mass mails etc.
We weather on.....frightening.....but we weather on.

  9. You did some very creative work with these words and phrases. I really like what you did here:

    "Less
than three weeks into Trumpville and my soul is already
hammered, my heart is in dangerous cardiac--twist."

  10. Although I vote Democratic, I am not very political. I had to look up who DeVos was. However, I do know that Pence is vice president. Should Trump have to resign when the market crashes later in his term, I don't expect Pence will be any better.

  11. I am ignoring politics and anything political as I am heartily sick of it. I vote Libertarian. Interesting take on the prompt.
