Shapiro's SHINY KISS

Composer Alex Shapiro posted this morning on her wonderful blog site, NOTES FROM THE KELP this terrific piece of poetry. She claims it is her solo foray into poetry. I love it. It was written as a response to a piece of music already composed. She is not only a free spirit and world renown composer, but she is a poet too. I knew it, sensed it, goaded and cajoled her to share this part of her creativity. She is a regular commenter on the Palmer site, FEEL FREE TO LAUGH, and has been very complimentary regarding my poetry and even my feeble attempts at pregnant prose. Go to her site and listen to the music for this poem. It will put a smile on the first stirrings of your day.

SHINY KISS

Passion searches
hungry
for its partner
through air that moves
and breathes

into your ear
warm
slowly first
then quicker gasps
it finds you

reflecting light
and sound
with lips pressed
firm
against cool metal

It sings to you
it moans
caressing
eager to seduce
all that lives between the air
and you

barely touching
grazing
neck hair
shiver
accept
this shiny kiss.
