Turds on the Tide

Turds on the Tide

“One of the key problems today is that politics
is such a mess, good people don’t go into
government.”--Donald J. Trump.

Once upon a morning dreary,
after checking out the Breaking News,
I broke out in a terrible fury
upon hearing the President’s views.

Another day, another shiny distraction.

Eleven murdered in a synagogue,
a bloody week of magma hate;
bullets, bombs and mayhem
as our very own Idiot in Chief

prances, squawks, and be-bops
at his endless vitriolic pep rallies
like the hideous evil demagogue
that he will always be.

He is proud not being
a politician,
yet is clueless about being
a mensch,
a human being,
a President.

Another day of 8 1/2 lies.

It’s only one week until Mid-Term elections,
but I fear the fix is in, and yet again
the popular vote not be enough to defeat
the Republican dishonest hokum
that is already in motion--
                       Gerrymandering,
                        Voter suppression,
                        Russian propaganda
smeared across social media,
lipstick on a cobra.

Our citizens emotions are pole-axed,
struck down, fatigued, misdirected, wondering
if it is true that every vote counts,
then why does Lady Democracy
suffer from a fascist flesh-eating disease,
wherein large chunks of her beautiful body
are being chewed off and spit out?
Where are the demon slayers
when we really need them?
Have they been bought off as well?

I find it difficult to navigate my canoe
in a sea of shit. It is all I can do
to keep it from capsizing.

If a pit viper
becomes President, we should
cut off its ugly head.

Ah Glennnn.....I just read this aloud to my husband. Makes me laugh...
but how VERY SAD that it even has to be printed!
A sea of shit indeed....and now let's pass an exectuive order (MINE MINE MINE ALL MINE) that denies birthright. Constitution? WHAT CONSTITUTION? Freedom of the press? ENEMY OF THE PEOPLE.
Many refused to travel with him to Pittsburgh today...or to see him....the clueless man.
Viper indeed.
Ah....I must keep my blood pressure down or Once Upon a Stress Induced Meltdown shall occur in this woman of seven+ decades!

"The first casualty in war is truth"

Alas I see the war coming

war among allies, between nations
all who says "we should be first".
war between foes, cultures who only sees
evil in others but never a fault of their own
war between cowards, pretending
that sending out children to die
is brave...

Trump is not the only one in the world... the so called strong men are "winning" everywhere.

Everything that Bjorn said. If only he was an aberration, but he isn't. He has more divisions than the Pope.

while I may laugh and really enjoyed your little once upon a rant, it isn't so funny when a person who cannot lead a country leads to more hate and destruction.

Wow - bravo for speaking up to the injustices our country is facing.

I hear you, I think I've lost my paddle, but we must continue and hope around the bend will be the change we are seeking.

Yes. I so agree.
But what worries me are the people who have been enabling him--and his supporters who laugh and cheer. I can't watch or listen to him at all.

This week has been particularly difficult. On Tuesday--before last Saturday--I visited the Holocaust Memorial in Philadelphia. . .

A perfect close Glenn! One fancies the stark revelation of deep feelings still being felt against him. He wasn't readily welcomed and made worse with some glaring decisions that lacked empathy and experience of high office. We'll see if things have changed in the Mid Term elections. Exhaustive political commentary!

Couldn't agree with you more- I am astounded every day. Where once upon a Breaking News used to mean something important is now nothing more than a repeat of the same Idiotic rants and raves of a lunatic.
