for the Byrds,
based on a bible verse,
where most of
the lyrics were lifted
verbatim.
“a time for every purpose,
under heaven,” it states
in Ecclesiastes 3:1-8;
this a subject
for a long list
poem.

A short introduction to a much longer poem... but still it says a lot.
I echo what Bjorn says. I usually don't think of The Bible first as a place for poetry but in this case they did it up right.

To everything, turn turn turn… enjoyed the reminder brother. CS&N and the Flying Burrito Bros were two popular bands birthed from the Byrds.
Now, I have that song playing in my head. Inspiration comes in many places.
I like Pete's version too. The words are raw if you really pay attention to them, and his voice is too.

Most don't think of the bible for poetry, but there are some beautiful prose to be found for those like Pete who knew how to find it. Thanks for the reminder.
