there were train rides
on the high plains
where buffalo in the
thousands could be shot
at will
before chemical warfare
there was boiling oil poured
from the castle wall
before the gun
was the slingshot
before oil company CEOs
there were feudal lords
before warmongering presidents
were the Caesars
before you came and finally spoke
sheep were bleating when led
to slaughter
