How The World Works
How the World Works
so much has to happen
for a line of ants to make it
back to the hole in the ground
three-thousand more people
need to bleed to death from
bullet wounds
ten-thousand people must
have limbs blown off and
watch their arms or legs
from a distance like
a stiff dead dog
five-million people have to
see any hope of retirement
pushed off the end of the boat
one-hundred more people need to
get very wealthy
while soldiers sing at night
under a foreign moon
