Sad But True

Sad but True

of all my emails
that I’ve sent

and I send a lot
of left wing crap

it was the quote
by hitler

that got the seminary-trained
never-responds-to-shit

never-even-a-peep
brother to respond

with not one
but three

emails
because hitler

had used the word
the word

that none can
desecrate

a ball of flame
rose up in his heart

that in his righteous
anger and intelligence

he just had to respond
and respond he did

and missed the point
entirely

but he proved himself right
and was willing to begin

a rigorous discussion if
need be

to intellectualize through
any shit about

that word that any
may want to vilify

or stain
the word was

Christian
which right now

does not mean
what I think

Christ meant it
to mean

"The national government will maintain and defend the foundations on which the power of our nation rests. It will offer strong protection to Christianity as the very basis of our collective morality.

"Today Christians stand at the head of
our country. We want to fill our culture again
with the Christian spirit. We want to burn
out all the recent immoral developments in
literature, in the theatre, and in the press-
in short, we want to burn out the poison
of immorality which has entered into our
whole life and culture as a result of
liberal excess during recent years."

Adolf Hitler. ( in his first radio address to the German people after coming to power July 22, 1933; from My New Order, The Speeches of Adolf Hitler,
1922-1939, Vol. 1, pp. 871-872, Oxford University Press, London, 1942.)
