The Art of Death
The Art of Death
Sculptors are starving so most
stone angels only appear
on fancy tombstones when the artist
wears the mantle of monumental mason,
carving deep the desperate calligraphy,
“requiescat in pace” on anchors, arches, birds,
books, cherubs, dolphins, hands and hearts.
