Naqoyqatsi

Naqoyqatsi

none of us
are frightened

we have not seen
each cold face

vultures picking
at the bones

shattered families
missing the breadwinner

the only thing cold and hard
for us is the toilet seat

bright flash daily for us
computer screen coming on

we have bitten off
more than we can chew

we find it easy
to root for attack

blood is merely
a word on a page

as we scroll down
did we win the battle

how many know
the smell of decomposing flesh

somehow the capture of one
balances the death of hundreds

still no one
comes clean

still the lies
justify the end result

war as a way of life
so easy from our vantage point
