Dueling Poets of Aristophanes
Aristophanes 'The Birds'
Painting by Linda Sutton
Dueling Poets of Aristophanes
only a chorus
of frogs in
Hades could hold
the attention
of Athens
only a war
in Iraq could
divert attention away
while coffers
are emptied
only a dead
poet could hold
his tongue as
peace walks
off stage
