War!
War!
I haunt the forest of your fear,
the nightmare in your dreams,
my mind on overtime as I figure out
what you most want, what you loathe
that I might play them off; each against
the other, promising what it takes
to bend your will beneath the power
of my own, weighing the calculated
cost of each small favor, sometimes
saying yes, sometimes no.
All the while, moving you closer
to the pit I dig where no step is safe
but leads to your own miscalculation
