Her Name Threaded In Air

her name threaded in air

1
(history of dreams)

the dream a smoke
a skin of grapes
wrapping
grapes
& grapes
pouring thru
the breaking skin
transparent dream of
grapes seeds within seeds
fruit within fruit dreams within
within without the skin a breakage
a wreckage of tumble down mountain
white stone eyes a vision that cannot cut
thru a roiling cascade of frothy wine—o life

2
(history of time)

he stops abruptly
his words

gone

swollen in
utter

absence

the movie plays on his skin—
o keening kin—’s’kin

ghosts parading

an empty skein
pallid frost

the l’id

a tower
b’urns

3
(history of theatre)

in a field of stones
a man appears
(or a woman
with a child
wrapped
in mud
& thread)
the room
the audience
the performance
of the witnessing act
then the inexorable exit
the woman carries the dead—
o night, a field of burning stones

4
(history of a face)

she undresses

steps into
rivers he
cannot
place

combs of honey lace
her mouth filled with light

& she threads hands
falling like names
in his green &
graceful rain

her face all he
cares to
want
