Joy of the Dance

Alex Shapiro, who besides being a world class composer
living amongst us, perched up north on her island, is a
terrific photographer as well. Over the years of following
her adventures, musings, and music on her site:

Notes From the Kelp
, we kelphsitos have also enjoyed
her photographs, from her Malibu early days, to the last
couple of exciting years living large up on San Juan
Island. Today she posted some shots of a majestic eagle
soaring over her studio, and she wrote of her love of
her "second job", as chronicler, photographer. She feels that
she is still learning her second love; than she is instinctively
finding those stunning images, but strives for more.

One of her comments merged, as they often do, into
poetics;

Joy of the Dance

I liken myself
to a dog dancing
on its hind legs;
it's not that
it does it well, but
it can do it at all.
