The Day I Painted My Oboe Blue
Painting by Chris Ranes
The Day I Painted My Oboe Blue
The fenced-off water, static and flat foam
White,
Some small spots, a slate-green varnish,
But flat-foam white
The virtuoso
Ornated with soprano pink,
Jelly fish.
On the still white and quivering pink surface,
Immobile a mango skin,
The red-speckled
Section.
And near by,
Immobile,
The unclothed
Blonde skin of the mango seed.
