Tomorrow We Will Stare
tomorrow we will stare
tomorrow we will stare
loss in the face with one-
hundred-and-eighty-one
coats of fatigue, a mouthful
of twigs tinged with
grief, rootlets shaken
from comfort, three or four
wistful feathers, and a found
string. like birds, we have
increased our chances of
survival by camouflaging
our heavy hearts
.
