Segue to Spring

Image borrowed from Google via Tess Kincaid

Segue to Spring

The Picasso eye
lodged in the bent branch
like a scuttled vessel
brooding in limbs
of a giant sugar maple

no longer dispenses
late night wisdom
early morning insight
from its steel-sky perch
outside my bedroom

its all-knowing stare
becomes distant, reluctant
behind chlorophyll eyebrows

as my psyche's new caretaker
scries wet kisses, scribbled
on post-it note leaves
among the flop of roses
the gentle thrust of trees

Thanks, Glenn, always a pleasure to see my stuff posted here. Don't you love this photo of Picasso?
