Movie Magazine Covers as Art

Hand painted movie magazine covers from the teens through WWII were actual works of art. Artists were hired to work from photographs and to add the pazzez and panache that represented Hollywood. This transfered to the movie posters too, but they are dealt with in other sections. TIME magazine was famous for its cover art paintings, as was THE SATURDAY EVENING POST.
