The 'Never' Kiss.

I was of the 'in between'
the place between sand and
shore, everywhere and nowhere
I was beautiful, of course
'Never kiss a mortal', the
other sea-maidens warned
the 'never' did it
buried a place in my brain
willed me on, almost
Of course, I kissed him
and now here I am
a beautiful statue
cold as ice
and set in concrete
Would I do it again?
the 'never' kiss?
Of course, the answer
is 'yes'...
