The First and the Last Party
The First and Last Party"
Everyone came as someone else.
So many in disguises met disguises
Of themselves and shook hands,
Or shared a piece of steak on a toothpick
With someone disguised as his wife.
As the strangers, disguised to be familiar,
Nibbled and sipped a rosy wine
They exchanged comment,
What is now the price of zinc.
Many discussed such topics with those
Wearing disguises of their own face,
But never recognized the disguise
Was their own face, which had been
Forgotten for many years.
