Temporary Blindness
Photograph by Duane Locke
temporary blindness
A heron stands
In the middle of the moon.
I glance through cabbage palms
Towards a distant small light.
The heron breaks
The moon into pieces.
A palm frond blows,
Breaks the small light into pieces.
Two loves walk by pond,
Blind to the fragmented moon.
