Deceiving Beauty

“Deceiving Beauty”

Untouched by senescence,
beauty sleeps.

Stairway dreams
caracol-swirl
in potpourri mist

and magic.

Hybrid kiwi eyes
(solar kaleidoscopes)

are eclipsed

by spell-bound lids
emblazoned

in global shadow.

Rusted lips
wrinkle and twitch
as a beastly prince

kisses

the incurably ticklish—
a savage attack

creviced

in the valley
of her unprotected
neck—

awakening beauty

so at last
she can die.
