Very interesting, Glenn. Which form did you start with? I'm not real sure what all the caps in the middle of the words mean...
Simplcity itself, Laurie, the Caps are the Syllabic breaks for the well hidden 8 haiku.
Okay...I'm headed to youtube...gonna build a play list based on this write. Prompt be damned! ;) Awesome, Glenn...seriously!
Just like good jazz, this is incredibly creative, and both hot and smooth in the same work. Ladies and Gents, we have a winner!
ah nice job on the use of caps to break this up glenn...i was looking for hidden words at first....love me some smooth jazz too man....great stuff man...
whoa ho ho - I didn't pass go, I did not collect $200, I just went right ahead and listened to you read the thang ... and it was beeyooteefull ...All kidding aside Glenn, it was jazz on paper and in the voice and I loved it - you are so clever to read your work aloud especially when you have a voice like warm honey ... very, very nice.

Love to hear a poem read, to fee; its passion. I love jazz too and you make me hot for the weekend when I can free verse of a dif kind. Excellente write and capture of the spirit and being of jazz.
Note: this comment will appear if I can ever figure out the anti robot words :)
@GlennButtkus well done on your poem. I tried to leave a comment but for some reason it didn't work....
Free verse yielding free music. The words jazz down the page packing rhythm, alliterations, and sounds in a cascading counterpoint.
I find the caps distracting but love the sound, rhythm, visual appeal, and word choices.
The two stair-step stanzas make me very happy. But S1 is definitely my fave.
Love that Davis quote. Beautiful title.
Liquid Jazz. Now that is a hot drink order.
Beautifully read and wonderfully wild presentation of a sober, serious, soothing, and at the same time, zenlike as well as stirring whole. Went through it with you three times, with the air- conditioning off to be able to savour every note.
Way cool. Fun to read out loud. Go good with bass and drums.
A big fan of jazz--loved the Miles Davis quotation too---favorite lines "most jazz goes down hot, scalding as it transforms" And what better topic for a poem that is a liberated form. Excellent--
Glenn, you have outdone yourself with this one! Well-hidden forms indeed! But the other idea to impress upon the poem the rhythms, the syncopations of jazz - that was inspired, and raised the level of this writing to something admirable. Excellent!
Loved the reading!
