ONE ANGEL


You would behead
angels
for god?

How does
that work, exactly?

Would you devote
seventeen
or sixty-seven
years
of your life

for the right
to finally set
your own boundaries,
only to discover
those boundaries
to be headstones
circling the
edge of darkness?

I know one angel
who won’t
be held back.

Is one angel enough?

Because I could
find two,
maybe three?
