A quiet day of reflection.
I remember the Naval ships
deployed just off the coast;
the candles burning
on the railing at the Porch:
empty freeways:
empty faces:
empty hearts.
2 generations of Americans
have had to withstand this kind of sadness,
let's pray our generation is the last.
