U-45
“The only thing that ever frightened me during the
war was the U-boat peril.”--Winston Churchill.
On Christmas Eve
a super ferry
plowed its way
into Elliott Bay,
with Seattle’s skyline
all aglow;
passengers
began screaming
Stop!
Off the starboard side
a WWII submarine
surfaced.
It was the U-45,
painted blood red,
and the conning tower
said TRUMP
on it.

WOW!!! You've outdone yourself in just 44 words!!! Glenn, wish you could be sitting here watching me read your post and then hearing my reaction at the end. Brows raised, wondering, questioning, what is this about....in the beginning reading....and then BAM! And an audible release of air and the word WOW!
The danger always come from below... what a scene with a submarine coming. Here we had our fair share of U-boats from Russia are you sure it wasn't one of those?
I hope its ghost has more success with Trump than it did when it was in action.
I do think there is a storm brewing and I wonder how it will end?
Interesting perspective on those U-boats.
OH BAM!!! What an ending!!!!!!
What a surprise ending Glenn. Hope all will be well. Wishing you the best of the holidays.
I agree with Bjorn about danger coming from below - and such a surprise ending!
I hope there is nothing worse that it still submerged. The danger seems very clear right now. I don't understand how some people don't see it.
Wow Glenn. What a surprise! Let's pray this nightmare is coming to en end.
