Hammering Through Daisies

 Hammering Through Daisies

“And death shall have no dominion. Dead men

naked shall be as one with the man in the wind...”

--Dylan Thomas

I saw death last night,

with a nice pleasant visage;

a gypsy girl in a bright

red dress, with bells on it,

twirling with beautiful tanned legs.

Do not go gentle

into that good night,” quoth Dylan.

Is death a demon or a

Liberator? We will

all know much too soon; that’s for sure.

Who will meet you, take

your hand? Jesus, Buddha or

Jack Benny--or some angel with

golden wings? Or maybe

you will meet your best higher Self there.

As an ascended

spirit, you have the power to

create whatever scene you want.

Time means nothing there.

Truth settles on you so softly.

This is incredibly deep and poignant, Glenn! So much to grasp here especially; "Or maybe you will meet your best higher Self there." Or maybe we ll become one? The title is such a hook! 💝💝

"Truth settles on you so softly." is such a gentle ending.
So much to think about with this one, Glenn. I guess we'll never know till it happens.

My father "raged against the dying of the light" when he passed.

I considered a wayra series, but decided against it. Just as well - mine woulda paled by comparison, I'm sure. Nice work, GB

That last line is phenomenal, Glenn! Whatever society's disagreements, every human soul yearns for peace.

I like this embroidering on a theme. Death is such a good one, whether gypsy girls in red dresses or Jack Benny...

That elusive best higher self...if it's anywhere, that would seem to be the place.

To chain the wayra .... keeping the reader spellbound, is no easy feat. Cheers.

The last line in contrast to referring Dylan Thomas... also remembering that death is often worse for those left behind...
