Extinction

Extinction

“Freedom is never more than one generation away
from extinction.”--Ronald Reagan.

Will our grandchildren’s
children
face extinction?

Before we play
the ace, and save
the black rhino
and the snow leopard,

shouldn’t we
pay more attention
to the peril
of our planet?

Bison were slain by
the multi-millions; tame now,
they face the abattoir.

Hi, Glenn. Such an interesting take on the prompt. I like it.
Hoping this goes through. Having blogspot issues today. Sigh.

Zero lies detected here. Sobering and true.

There is only one common denominator in Mother Gaia's troubles. We're it. I talked with a friend of mine who lives in AZ last night. He said the ratio of MAGA to to non-MAGA is 80-20. He also said when the water comes out of his tap from the reservoir that it's hot. I see a fork in the road ahead. One path leads to Mother Gaia's death. The other path leads to our species' demise.

I watch Our Planet and feel sad about the disappearing forests and ice caps and species. One day, mother earth will be our reckoning.

You always bring me back to reality with a resounding thud, Glenn. Wisdom and truth in your poems.

The Creator entrusted us to care for the planet. We're not doing a very good job.

I wish I was a born optimist, then I'd have some cheerful thing to say as a counter.

Yep. So grim.
