“We were fierce and beautiful, before they came

with armor and rages, with their Jesus and crosses

--and we have never been wild again.”

--Benjamin Alure Saenz.

We’ve got BP cowboys wrangling at the border.

They claim they were just keeping order.

We cling to freedom like an obsessed hoarder.

Biden is like an old lone bull

elephant, attacked by hyenas, never full;

just fangs and claws, no push or pull.

creating chaos and civil disorder.

One crisis after another Biden has to deal with,

and no crisis solved, not first or fifth.

Because functional Democracy is but a myth.

It’s just very hard work, with no way shorter.

Yet the stink and stain of Trump

still lingers like a cancerous lump,

while his cultists are ever ready to jump

at his Fascist behest or putrid order.

We're living in a very scary time, Glenn. It's like people bend over backwards to believe total nonsense.

Glenn,
It's a mess. Will this American experiment of democracy fail? I hope not. I don't want to think this is a twilight for us but I admit sometimes it feels that way. A terrific Zejel spun with the energy of your thoughts.

Strong write brother! My mind fried a couple days ago trying to think about this shit! From now on I am writing only about beautiful women — and trees! 🤨

Nice work on the form, Glenn. I like how you pull out the satire from a deadly serious situation:

'Because functional Democracy is but a myth.'

It definitely looks that way to me.

I hope our young people have more sense than the old farts stinking up the place now.

Frightening how our minds have been warped into parodies of themselves.

I think sometimes we all see the problems, it's agreeing on how solve them that is the problem.
